Time

In Victorian times flowers were passed between friends and lovers to send secret messages. This collage is of rejected monotype prints cut up to represent a vase of cut flowers one of which has dropped. I created this while thinking about the ambiguous loss of loved ones with dementia and our beloved pets growing old too soon. The frame is an antique Victorian frame that I am up-cycling. The collage is a modern take on formal paintings from before cameras were available. The art of flower arranging and the meaning behind flowers has always interested me.
