June Transparency

This collage is composed of Asian papers, most of which are translucent, and all of which are in shades of white. However, you will notice that one of the papers incorporates small, dark fragments; this variation adds contrast. I wanted to create an image that transmitted light, which is something transparent/translucent layers do well. I also concentrated on using a variety of textures. I have experimented with using plants and flowers in collage before. They add texture and convey that the work is about nature. I did this collage on a clear, sunny day, which suggested the use of blues and yellows to me.
